Borrow it Winchester : Borrower's agreement
Welcome to Borrow it Winchester. By borrowing any item from us, you agree to the terms and conditions listed below. We encourage you to read them carefully.

You must be 18 or older to borrow items from our library.

Before borrowing, you must become a member, sign our lending agreement and show us both of the following. Please make sure the information you provide is current, true, and correct.

Government issued photo ID, such as a driving license or a passport.

A utility bill or bank statement showing your name and address.

We will protect personal data we obtain from you in line with our Data Protection Policy.

Our staff and volunteers can explain how to use items, but you are responsible for using them safely and properly.

Only the member who borrows an item may use it, unless we give permission for someone else to use it.

We make a small charge to borrow items, and the suggested amounts are listed on our website. You can pay by cash or card.

Please return all items by the time the hub closes on their due date.

If you want to renew an item, you can do so before noon on the due date, as long as no one else has reserved it. We may refuse or limit renewals.

We are responsible for loss or damage caused by our negligence in failing to tell you about a known fault. We are not responsible for faults we are not aware of. We are not liable for personal injury or death caused by our negligence or breach of contract. Please note that, as a non-profit organisation, there may be greater risks to you than if you were paying to hire or buy something.

We are not responsible for any manufacturing defects or inherent issues in any borrowed items. Before using an item, please check it for any faults. If an item becomes unsafe or damaged, please stop using it immediately and notify us.

If you are borrowing electrical equipment, please check the wires and plug for damage before use. If you plan to use the item outside, move it around, or use it in any conditions where it might come into contact with water, sharp objects, or other electrical wiring, please use a circuit breaker (RCD).

Please return all items in the same (or better) condition as when you borrowed them, except for normal wear and tear.

Please return all items in a clean condition. If there is any loss or damage to an item, we will assess it and discuss fair restitution with you.

We reserve the right to refuse the loan of any item at our discretion.

Please do not borrow items for professional work where you are charging a fee to a third party. You may risk losing your membership.

Please make sure you understand and comply with our rules and regulations. Failure to comply may result in revocation of your borrowing privileges and/or legal action against you. You must also read and sign our Liability waiver, which waives your claims against Borrow it Winchester.
