Winnall Rock School was overjoyed in May 2021 when a local musician offered them a double bass, especially as even a basic model would cost c.£800 new. When they acquired it, it was evident that it needed some adjustments to make it more playable but a professional job would cost around £250 - a lot of money for the Winnal Rock School. As an alternative, they did our own effective, but rather unattractive bodge job to reduce the height of the strings over the fingerboard. They made do with this interim solution until...they discovered Repair Cafe Winchester! A quick enquiry found that it could be tidied up ...... for free. Now they have a great sounding, playable double bass and much less risk of damage to the strings. Great work!
